Our growing Richmond insurance agency is seeking a full time Account Manager. This is an inside sales and service role. Ideal candidate must thrive in a fast paced environment and enjoy interacting with clients. The ideal candidate must have excellent communication and multitasking skills, a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently with little supervision.


  • Highly effective communication skills – oral, written and group
  • Experience in sales or client service environment preferred
  • Detail oriented
  • Organizational skills and effective time management to succeed in a semi-autonomous, fast-paced environment
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills
  • Honest, dependable and punctual
  • Strong sense of professionalism and discretion required

  • Demonstrated persuasion and negotiation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with prospective and existing customers
  • College degree preferred or HS diploma with industry experience
  • P & C license or working toward licensing

Responsibilities (Included, but not limited to)

  • Assist clients with policy changes and policy related questions
  • Assist existing and prospective clients with new insurance requests
  • Escalate claims as needed and work with management to secure a positive outcome for the client
  • Delegate non-licensed tasks to back office support, while tracking and managing those tasks until completed
  • Quote, bind and issue both new business and re-marketing of existing clients
  • Communicate with clients, potential clients and business partners via phone, email, and text
  • Provide renewal policy reviews
  • Key in new quotes and provide results to prospect
  • Communicate and work with underwriters to secure the best possible outcome for a client or prospect
  • Exceeding sales goals for volume of quality new business/rewrite business quoted and written
  • Counseling and advising prospects and policyholders on matters of insurance coverage that is tailored to their specific need
  • Consultative approach to sales (understanding pain-points of customers and addressing their needs through solutions selling)
